Exploring the ideas of growing up in a town shaped by masculinity and its tradition behind industry, I based my fmp, ‘This little heart of MINE’, around understanding and reclaiming Doncaster’s mining history and the masculinity that surrounds its culture.

I utilised the dungaree buckle and through various sampling on both domestic and dubied machines, I implemented them within my knit, both delicate and firmer types of knit. By combining the two types of knit with hardware i was able to showcase the divide between the men I grew up around and looked up to, and the dilemma of not feeling ‘man enough’.
