Pre-Collection
In this project, I explore the influence of my sister and how my admiration for her growing up shaped my understanding of femininity and, ultimately, my own gender identity and sexuality. I examine how idolising her informed my sense of self — from our shared experiences of playing dress-up to the media and cultural references that defined our childhood. Building on these ideas, I investigate the notion of reinterpreting and distorting the argyle pattern — traditionally a symbol of masculinity in knitwear — as a way to question and subvert gendered expectations.
